Having two board-certified opticians on staff speaks directly to the practice’s commitment to precision, education, and excellence—and allows patients to receive an elevated level of care and customization.

On-Site Lens Edging: 

Precision, Speed, and Convenience

Eye Boutique of Sedona is the only optical in the Verde Valley with an on-site lens edger. This technology allows lenses to be cut and customized in-house by skilled opticians, rather than being sent away to an external lab.

For patients, this means:

• Faster turnaround times
• The ability to put new lenses into an existing frame
• No need to go without glasses for one to two weeks 

This capability is not just about convenience—it is a testament to the technical skill and confidence of the opticians who are able to precisely cut lenses to fit each individual frame.

Over more than 12 years, Eye Boutique of Sedona has continuously refined its frame collection. Many popular global frame brands have passed through the practice—but popularity alone is never enough. Each line is rigorously evaluated for quality, durability, and performance.

If a frame line fails to meet the practice’s standards, it is removed. The result is a thoughtfully curated collection that reflects both craftsmanship and values.

Why We No Longer Take Insurance

Eye care technology has advanced dramatically in recent years. We now have tools that can detect disease earlier, monitor changes more precisely, and help protect long-term vision in ways that simply were not possible before.

Unfortunately, Medicare has not kept pace with these advances. New technologies can take years to be recognized and covered, and access is often limited only to patients who already have a diagnosed disease—rather than those who could benefit most from early detection and prevention.

Our goal has always been simple: to provide the highest level of eye care possible and give our patients access to the best technology available.

For that reason, we have made the decision to transition to a direct (cash-pay) model. This allows us to:

• Offer advanced diagnostic technology without unnecessary restrictions
• Focus on prevention and early detection, not just disease management
• Provide more personalized care based solely on what is best for you
• Maintain straightforward, transparent pricing

We believe the future of eye care is proactive, technology-driven, and centered on protecting vision before problems become irreversible. In many ways, the traditional “standard of care” is now only the minimum standard available.

Our commitment is to remain at the forefront of modern eye care and continue providing the level of attention, technology, and preventive care that I believe our patients deserve.
