What Makes Eye Boutique of Sedona’s Optical Unique
A Truly Exceptional Optical Experience in Northern Arizona
The optical at Eye Boutique of Sedona is unlike anything else in northern Arizona—and, in many ways, uncommon even nationally. The practice is built around an unusually high level of expertise, craftsmanship, and intentionality, both in people and in products.
Board-Certified
Optical Expertise
Eye Boutique of Sedona employs two board-certified opticians, an exceptional distinction in the United States. Most optical shops rely on opticians trained solely on the job, without formal certification or advanced education. Board certification represents extensive training, testing, and demonstrated mastery of optical science, lens design, and fitting.
Having two board-certified opticians on staff speaks directly to the practice’s commitment to precision, education, and excellence—and allows patients to receive an elevated level of care and customization.
On-Site Lens Edging:
Precision, Speed, and Convenience
Eye Boutique of Sedona is the only optical in the Verde Valley with an on-site lens edger. This technology allows lenses to be cut and customized in-house by skilled opticians, rather than being sent away to an external lab.
For patients, this means:
- Faster turnaround times
- The ability to put new lenses into an existing frame
- No need to go without glasses for one to two weeks
This capability is not just about convenience—it is a testament to the technical skill and confidence of the opticians who are able to precisely cut lenses to fit each individual frame.
A Mindfully Curated
Frame Collection
Over more than 12 years, Eye Boutique of Sedona has continuously refined its frame collection. Many popular global frame brands have passed through the practice—but popularity alone is never enough. Each line is rigorously evaluated for quality, durability, and performance.
If a frame line fails to meet the practice’s standards, it is removed. The result is a thoughtfully curated collection that reflects both craftsmanship and values.
Frames with Purpose
Socially Responsible & Ethical Brands Many of the frame lines carried at Eye Boutique of Sedona are chosen not only for their beauty and quality, but also for their positive impact. These include brands that:
- Plant a tree with each purchase
- Provide eye exams to children in underserved areas
- Donate to foundations or research organizations studying eye diseases
- Operate humanitarian outreach programs delivering eyewear to underdeveloped regions
Earth-Friendly & Sustainable Materials
Eye Boutique of Sedona prioritizes environmentally conscious frame lines, including those made from recycled or sustainable materials.
Truly Global Craftsmanship
Frames are sourced from around the world, including:
- United States
- Japan
- France
- Italy

This global sourcing emphasizes artistry, innovation, and regional craftsmanship.
A Direct-Pay Model
Why We No Longer Take Insurance
Eye care technology has advanced dramatically in recent years. We now have tools that can detect disease earlier, monitor changes more precisely, and help protect long-term vision in ways that simply were not possible before.
Unfortunately, Medicare has not kept pace with these advances. New technologies can take years to be recognized and covered, and access is often limited only to patients who already have a diagnosed disease—rather than those who could benefit most from early detection and prevention.
Our goal has always been simple: to provide the highest level of eye care possible and give our patients access to the best technology available.
For that reason, we have made the decision to transition to a direct (cash-pay) model. This allows us to:
- Offer advanced diagnostic technology without unnecessary restrictions
- Focus on prevention and early detection, not just disease management
- Provide more personalized care based solely on what is best for you
- Maintain straightforward, transparent pricing
We believe the future of eye care is proactive, technology-driven, and centered on protecting vision before problems become irreversible. In many ways, the traditional “standard of care” is now only the minimum standard available.
Our commitment is to remain at the forefront of modern eye care and continue providing the level of attention, technology, and preventive care that I believe our patients deserve.
We chose a different path so we can give you better care.
Your prescription is part of your eye health
An accurate prescription is more than a glasses measurement — it helps us understand how your eyes are functioning and monitor for changes related to eye disease. We include this testing as a routine part of every annual exam.
The standard of care should keep moving forward
Advances in eye care happen quickly, but insurance coverage often takes years to catch up. Our practice invests in modern technology and treatments so we can provide the best care available today.
Clinical decisions should be made in the exam room
The best medical decisions are made between doctors and patients — not by insurance policies. A direct-pay model allows us to focus on what is best for each individual patient and provide care without unnecessary restrictions.
Transparent pricing
No confusing statements. No decoding an EOB. No deductibles or co-pays. You’ll always know exactly what your visit costs.
What This Means For You
Complete vision care at every visit
Comprehensive, modern eye
Care guided by clinical judgment
Clear pricing before your visit
